November 29, 2019 #CommsChat on epidemic over-servicing
Welcome to #CommsChat. This week’s debate will dedicated to over-servicing. The latest research from the PRCA and Ginger Research shows over-servicing has reached epidemic proportions among PR agencies, with over 90% admitting they over-service and 80% seeing it as a growing problem. Who’s to blame? Are clients unreasonable? Are agencies the architects of their own misfortune? Join PRCA director general Francis Ingham and Mary Whenman, communications director of British Business Bank as we thrash out the issues.
Who’s to blame for agencies over-servicing and undercharging? Why should clients be concerned about it?
Are client expectations unreasonably high? How much high client expectation comes from agencies over-promising at pitch stage?
What’s the best way to handle goalposts shifting on projects?
What about scope creep?
Should clients be more involved in helping agencies sort themselves out? And, if so, how?
Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place every Monday, from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will be posted to Commschat.com on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics – please get in touch with Brittany via Twitter or email or contact us on Twitter with your ideas.
