October 15, 2012 #CommsChat 15 October – convergence in communications
This week’s #CommsChat takes on a topic that is ever-increasing in importance as budgets contract and agencies look to do more. We’ll be joined by Sheila Parry, managing director at theblueballroom, who recently oversaw the merger of two agencies to create an organisation that aims to cover all of a business’ communications needs.
We’re taking convergence in comms as our main topic, considering how agencies can pool their resources, knowledge, and skills to help businesses realise their potential.
Topics will include:
- With internal and external communications converging, is there room for specialisation in agencies now/in the future?
- Conversely, can one agency really do it all?
- How far have businesses come in understanding how much they can control a message on social?
- Is social a tool used by existing collaborators, or does it create collaborators, and change the way we work/
#CommsChat takes place from 8-9pm (UK time – so that’s 3pm EDT) each Monday evening. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will go up on Tuesday morning.
We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics for #CommsChat – get in touch with Molly by email or Twitter if you’ve got ideas.
