This week's chat

October 20, 2012 Lunchtime #CommsChat on 22 October: CIPR elections

This Monday, we’re doing something a little bit different. There will still be a regular #CommsChat at the usual time of 8pm, but at lunchtime we’re running an additional session.

At 1pm on Monday 22 October, we’ll welcome Miti Ampoma & Lionel Zetter, the two candidates for President-Elect of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, to take part in a debate that will focus on some of the key topics facing the industry today. Voting closes on 24 October, so this is the last chance to weigh up where Miti and Lionel stand on the issues.

The structure for the #CommsChat will be the same as ever, and Miti and Lionel will focus on answering your points. The topics for the chat will be:

– What do you think the PR industry will look like in five years’ time?

– The media is facing regulatory changes post-Leveson: what are the implications for PR?

– What part will professional bodies like the CIPR play in the future of the industry?

– Do you think the worst is over for communicators in terms of the economy?

– What should the President of the CIPR do?

This special edition of #CommsChat will take place from 1-2pm (UK time) on Monday 22 October. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will go up on Tuesday morning.

We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics for #CommsChat – get in touch with Molly by email or Twitter if you’ve got ideas.
