This week's chat

January 16, 2018 #CommsChat on workforce adaptation and change

On Monday, we welcome Roger Gorman, founder and CEO of ProFinda, to talk about the future of comms and how communicators can adapt to changes in the industry. We’ll look at the pressure on modern workplaces, the effect of tech and digital on easing such pressures, and the best ways comms pros can learn about tech developments. We’ll also look at the increasing mix of generations in the workplace and what comms pros need to know for the future.

The topics are:

  • What are the pressures on modern-day workplaces? How is internal comms addressing these?
  • How is technology changing workplaces? What should comms pros know about new tech developments?
  • How can internal comms address the different expectations of the generations now in the workplace? E.g. the Millennial, the Baby Boomer
  • How might workplaces change in the future? How can comms prepare for this?
  • What other steps can comms professionals take to future-proof their workplaces?

Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place every Monday, from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will be posted to Storify on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics – please get in touch with Amy at amy.sandys@communicatemagazine.co.uk or contact us on Twitter with any ideas.
