This week's chat

April 24, 2014 #CommsChat on #thebigyak

Last year, @TheICCrowd ran a phenomenally successful unconference for internal comms professionals on a sunny Saturday in June. #thebigyak drew together hordes of IC folk who discussed everything from video and gamification to engaging frontline employees to budgeting and strategy. This year, the programme is back with what is poised to be even bigger (yakkier) and better than the last. To attend the unconference, visit www.thebigyak.co.uk/ for updates on (free) ticket releases.

The ladies behind @TheICCrowd – @allthingsIC@danaleeson and @jenniwheller are joining us for a once-a-year IC extravaganza making this week a #commschat not to be missed.

Topics:

  • Has anyone used the unconference format for events? What do you think of it?
  • What issues are keeping you awake at night? Are you participating in IoIC Live 14 on Thursday?
  • Why do you attend IC events? What do you want to get from #thebigyak?
  • What areas of #IC would you like to see addressed by your peers and colleagues?
  • Does a weekend date put you off coming to an unconference?
  • What is the best or worst comms-related advice you’ve ever given or heard?

Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place from 8-9pm UK time – for worldwide times, go here. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will go up on Tuesday morning.

We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics for #CommsChat – get in touch with Brittany by email or Twitter if you’ve got ideas.
