October 5, 2015 #CommsChat on product vs. brand
This week on #CommsChat we’re going to look at the ways that the changing environment and role of business affects brand development. Whether it’s Google’s launch of Alphabet or Logitech’s decision to lose its ‘tech’, brands are constantly having to evolve to reflect their changing product and service offering.
Here are some of the topics up for discussion:
- Is it common for a rebrand project to be inspired by a change in its product or service offering?
- In which sectors is this occurrence most likely to take place? (perhaps fast-moving sectors like tech?)
- Which kind of brand adapts well to change?
- Can you think of an example of a brand that did this well? (Google/Alphabet, Logi(tech))
- What should brands avoid to allow for potential changes to their products/services in the future?
Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will go up on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics for #CommsChat – get in touch with Brittany by email or on Twitter if you have any ideas.
