This week's chat

May 15, 2017 #CommsChat on PR and brand language

This week on #CommsChat, we’re looking at how PR and brands use language to refine their identity and differentiate themselves in often crowded marketplaces. We will look at the importance of defining your brand language across multiple platforms, how to ensure consistency throughout the PR and marketing process, and which brands #CommsChat thinks has the most noticeable (for better or worse) brand language.

The topics are:

  • Where does the power of brand language lie?
  • How can a company refine its brand language across all touchpoints?
  • How is PR reacting to common changes in language, such as emojis?
  • Does brand language and PR language differ? Can they be reconciled?
  • How do PRs and marketers work together to ensure brand language consistency?
  • Which brand’s brand language has made the biggest impact? Why?

Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place every Monday, from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will be posted to Storify on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics – please get in touch with Amy at amy.sandys@communicatemagazine.co.uk or contact us on Twitter with any ideas.
