This week's chat

July 12, 2018 #CommsChat on higher education comms

This week on #CommsChat we’ll be asking, how can universities differentiate themselves in a digital-first market? We’re talking about communications in the higher education sector, what communications means in a digital-first environment and the art of brand differentiation. We’ll also talk about building a narrative through social media channels as well as more traditional routes, and the importance of continued innovation.

The topics are:

    • What digital strategies or platforms do universities use effectively in their comms?
    • How can they build a narrative that establishes points of differentiation?
    • How should universities approach comms and branding to compete against apprenticeships, internships, etc?
    • Can universities use social media effectively in student comms? Are there good examples?
    • What are universities not doing that they should be doing?

Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place every Monday, from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will be posted to Storify on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics – please get in touch with Amy at amy.sandys@communicatemagazine.co.uk or contact us on Twitter with any ideas.
