October 11, 2016 #CommsChat on ethics in PR
Next week (17/10/2016) on #CommsChat we welcome the CIPR ahead of #EthicsWeek and the CIPR Ethics Festival 2016. We’ll be discussing common and perhaps uncommon ethical practice in PR, the role of ethics in stakeholder relationships, and if ethical PR can ever be measured.
The topics are as follows:
- What are the most common grey areas in ethical PR practice
- The CIPR Code of Conduct promotes honesty, transparency and fairness. How can PR pros encourage these principles across organisations?
- Can withholding the truth from stakeholders ever be justified? Why?
- Which ethical issues need to be considered when working with social influencers? How should these be communicated?
- Can ethical PR practice be measured? How?
Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place every Monday, from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will be posted to Storify on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics – please get in touch with Amy at amy.sandys@communicatemagazine.co.uk or contact us on Twitter with any ideas.
