May 10, 2018 #CommsChat on best practice comms and #FuturePRoof 3
This week on #CommsChat we’re joined by Sarah Hall, CIPR president and editor of the #FuturePRoof book series, along with the book’s authors, to talk about the NHS at 70 and the launch of #FuturePRoof 3. We’ll look at the value of comms as a strategic function, how to create and maintain dialogue between employees and managers, and the enduring lessons from NHS communications to other industries. Follow @CommsChat on Twitter and use the hashtag #CommsChat to get involved.
The topics are:
- #FuturePRoof 3 underlines the need for trust, transparency and investment in skills. Are these the biggest issues facing communicators?
- Why are communicators often best equipped to offer strategic value in an organisation?
- Can communicators prove the impact they have on an organisation? How?
- The NHS secures high levels of trust because it has a human face. Should communicators field employees instead of management to lead debate?
- Name an example of best practice in comms that you’ve discovered. Why was it so effective?
- What can communicators in other industries learn from those in the NHS?
Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place every Monday, from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will be posted to Storify on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics – please get in touch with Amy at amy.sandys@communicatemagazine.co.uk or contact us on Twitter with any ideas.
