July 9, 2018 #CommsChat on crisis communication
This week on #CommsChat we’re joined by Harriet Small for a #CommsChat on crisis communication. We’ll look at the best strategies to employ during a crisis situation, the changing roles of a comms team during a crisis situation, and how changes such as digital advancement have shifted comms team roles.
The topics are:
-
- What is the role of the communications / PR team during a crisis?
- How has crisis communications changed in the digital era?
- How does the communications team support the organisation bounce back after the crisis?
- What resources (e.g. training courses, books, websites) would you recommend to broaden knowledge about crisis communications?
- Do you have examples when communications was done well or not so well during a crisis?
- What are your top tips for communicating during a crisis?
Join us! We tweet from @CommsChat and #CommsChat takes place every Monday, from 8-9pm GMT. Anyone can take part in the discussion – simply follow the hashtag here or on Twitter. If you can’t make the chat or would like to revisit it, a transcript will be posted to Storify on Tuesday morning. We’d love to hear your suggestions for future topics – please get in touch with Amy at amy.sandys@communicatemagazine.co.uk or contact us on Twitter with any ideas.
